David Starobin's "Three Places in New Rochelle" (2002) is a three
movement suite for guitar and percussion with a duration of approximately 10
minutes. The idiom is a mixture of tonal and atonal elements. Written for
the composer/guitarist's daughter, the percussion part is written for a
beginner, while the guitar part requires a moderately advanced player. The
piece is edited and fingered by David Starobin. |
