Michael Starobin's "Joshua Variations" (1992) for solo guitar, is a
set of variations lasting approximately thirteen minutes. The work
is based on an original children's song, and describes the events of the
newborn's day–from morning bottle to play time, to a blues-tinged final
passacaglia. The idiom is mainly tonal, and is composed for a moderately
advanced player. "Joshua Variations" is edited and fingered by
David Starobin. |
