Paul Lansky's latest Bridge release is a suite of ten brand new
pieces. Lansky writes: "The inspiration came from the TV show,
Sesame Street, where the celebration of letters and numbers, those
atoms of daily life, is often clothed in lively musical garb." Lansky asked the graphic artist Grady Klein to animate some of the
music, and the result is a charming and quirky
enhanced CD–full of imaginative and playful visual and sound art. The disc is playable on CD players and computers, including Windows
and Macintosh platforms. Included in the 32-page full color booklet
is a complete printing of Grady Klein's Alphabet Book, the graphic
work upon which the CD's animation is based. Paul Lansky was
called "America's foremost electronic composer" by Playboy Magazine,
and this, his eighth release on Bridge, shows him expanding in new
directions.
